Will this work on my skin tone and hair colour? I have dark skin and my sister has blonde hair.
We want to be upfront here: IPL targets the melanin (pigment) in the hair, so it works best on light to medium skin tones with darker hair. It is generally not suitable for very dark skin tones, as the light can be absorbed by the skin itself, and it will not work well on very light blonde, grey or red hair because there is too little pigment for the light to target. If you or your sister fall into these groups, we would honestly suggest speaking to a dermatologist about alternatives rather than expecting results from any at-home IPL device.
